<p>Black Noir has been a vital component of The Boys since its inception, and despite his death in season 3, the character&#8217;s tale is far from finished. Rather of declaring Vought&#8217;s death, they replaced him with a new Black Noir in season 4 of The Boys. Although the first version was a silent 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁er, his replacement lacks the same vicious tendencies, making the two versions of the character vastly different.</p>

<p>This audition emphasized the new Noir&#8217;s ability to fly, although his other abilities remained unknown. Mitchell&#8217;s character also claimed to be at the top of his class at Godolkin University and had previous acting experience, which added context to his genuine intentions. The new version of Black Noir appears to have no actual violent intents, and the character plainly doesn&#8217;t belong in the Seven, making his job more intriguing. With his audition exacerbating his mixed emotions in episode 6, the new Black Noir could be a wildcard for the rest of season 4, making his journey more compelling.</p>

Although he may not have had numerous NDAs to sign or the same bizarre instructions, <strong>it seems possible Mitchell&#8217;s <em>The Boys</em> audition somewhat mirrored his character&#8217;s experience</strong>. Black Noir was informed he wouldn&#8217;t speak and would be devoid of facial expressions due to his mask, meaning the part would be done solely through body language. Naturally, this is a strange request for an actor, and his response could be reminiscent of Mitchell&#8217;s real-life thoughts.</p>
<p>Noir says, &#8220;I don&#8217;t get to talk?&#8221; and &#8220;No one&#8217;s going to see my face?&#8221; lines could reflect emotions comparable to Mitchell&#8217;s during his audition, and while it&#8217;s unlikely that they played out the same way, the sketch feels purposefully satirical. Even though Mitchell read Black Noir before auditioning for The Boys, his position in the play is quite different, making it one of his most distinctive roles to date.
