The Boys Season 4 finale ended with a tease of an all-out war between supes and humans in Season 5. That plan succeeded despite Robert Singer&#8217;s failed assassination and the death of Victoria Neuman. Sister Sage walks in on a frustrated Homelander in the end to reveal her contingency for the takeover, which includes a video of Singer ordering the hit on Neuman. Sage also teased &#8220;Phase Two&#8221; plans for world domination, which is likely outlined in her inconspicuous Queen Maeve notebook. In an interview with TV Line, actor Susan Heyward explores her character&#8217;s Season 5 arc, and if it will involve Queen Maeve&#8217;s return.

When asked to comment about the Queen Maeve reference, Heyward confirmed they&#8217;re considering a handful of ideas. &#8220;I floated a couple of pitches,&#8221; she said. &#8220;They have let me know they&#8217;re thinking of some things, as well, but nothing that I could share here. That&#8217;s for next season.&#8220; The Boys has yet to update audiences on the whereabouts of Maggie Shaw a.k.a. Queen Maeve (played by Dominique McElligott), who was last seen in the Season 3 finale (likely) losing her superability after taking the brunt of Soldier Boy&#8217;s radioactive meltdown. That scene showed Maeve on top of Soldier Boy while falling from the building, increasing her chances of survival. Fans also have reason to hope she&#8217;s still alive after the Season 4 finale&#8217;s post-credits scene.

<h3>Sister Sage&#8217;s Master Plan For World Domination</h3>
Heyward says The Boys Season 5 is still wide open to possibilities, starting with a call to all supes to converge and protect the White House Capitol. She hints that her plans might be entirely different from Homelander&#8217;s, though. &#8220;In a very Sage-like way, I have all of these different versions in my head,&#8221; she confirmed. &#8220;I have the version in my head where she goes for world domination. I have the version in my head where she flips and shows herself to be a champion of humanity, and she&#8217;s been just positioning herself to protect humanity this whole time. I have a version in my head where she&#8217;s a complete agent of chaos and just likes to keep pushing the table over. All of those sound fun to me as an actress. I&#8217;m open to all of them.&#8221;

Heyward revealed that the Season 5 script is currently in a fluid state; showrunner Eric Kripke has so far hinted at major plot points and returning characters. &#8220;The writers&#8217; room is open right now,&#8221; Heyward said. &#8220;I will find out probably when I arrive to set, and things will probably change again then. So I guess the answer to your question is, I hope [the script] will reflect the world back to itself, clearly, and I know it&#8217;s going to be fun to play. I&#8217;m grateful.&#8221; Kripke has confirmed The Boys would end with Season 5, which unfortunately has a distressing release window.
