With a cast full of celebrities, a new horror movie has finally made its way into Netflix, leaving fans &#8220;genuinely scared.&#8221;
In the first-ever Cobweb film, which came out last year, The Boys icon Antony Starr and Lizzy Caplan played overbearing parents Mark and Carol, whose kid Peter (played by Woody Norman) hears eerie tapping and a voice emanating from within their house.

Trying to get to the bottom of their uninvited guest, the youngster unwittingly uncovers a ‘dark secret that his sinister parents have kept hidden from him’.
The flick is now on Netflix in the UK and has stormed up the top 10 chart on the streaming platform, with many raving about the terrifying scenes – while also urging potential viewers to look past the mixed Rotten Tomatoes score.
Although Cobweb now has a 71% audience rating vs a 59% critics score, fans have praised the sequences and claimed they couldn&#8217;t stop thinking about it for days after seeing.
&#8220;This is an amazing underrated instant Halloween/October classic,&#8221; stated Casey P. I really enjoy this movie, but I&#8217;m not sure why it didn&#8217;t resonate and get more people to see it. From a child&#8217;s point of view, all these common troupes and horror clichés are somewhat subverted.

Samuel Bodin, most known for his Marianne series on Netflix, was behind the camera for Cobweb and wanted to bring out an unnerving ‘nightmare’ for the audience.
‘To create fear, it’s always a question of preparation and intention,’ he told IndieWire.

‘I wanted to play with the shadows to create that feeling you have when you’re a kid where you can hear your parents but not always see them or understand what they’re doing.
I gave Danny in The Shining and the portrayal of childhood in The Babadook by Jennifer Kent a lot of attention.
It reminds me of sharing a story around a campfire. I&#8217;m attempting to persuade everyone to experience the same nightmare in the same manner with each shot.
