Following her victory at the China Open, Coco Gauff hilariously told the press that her mother, Candi, has been letting her win whenever they play Uno. Gauff also thanked her dad, Corey, as well as her team: Maria Vargo, Filipe Ramírez Luna, and Matt Daly.
&#8220;Thank you Matt. This is our first tournament together and obviously it&#8217;s going well so thank you for helping me throughout this week and thank you to Felipe for letting me win at soccer tennis every day and thanks to Maria for losing at soccer tennis every day, and thank you to my mom. She&#8217;s here. She&#8217;s been playing Uno, letting me win at Uno and my dad too,&#8221; Gauff added.

She won the title by defeating Clara Burel, Katie Boulter, and Naomi Osaka in the opening rounds. In the quarterfinals, she beat Ukraine’s Yulia Starodubtseva and then defeated 15th seed Paula Badosa in the semifinals before beating Karolína Muchová in the final. It was Gauff&#8217;s first title since winning the ASB Classic back in January.
